Finals have started

Today was Room Divisions and Economics.

I admit Rooms knocked me for a bit of a loop. There was one bit that I thought I had a pretty good handle on but when it came to test time...oops, it all slipped away. Sadly it was worth a largish chunk of the exam. I'm guessing low 80s with this one...crap. But as long as I stay above the high 80's I'll still get a good B in the class. I hope I did well on the rest!

Economics was AWESOME. I knew the stuff down cold already. Hell, I wanted to take this final 'cause I knew my stuff so well. Oddly enough it turned out he didn't even ask for the really complicated stuff like Long Run Philips Curves and Money Illusion...just some minor calculations and other silly things. Damn, I wanted to be challenged. LOL...guess I should have focused more on Rooms eh? Doh.

Tomorrow is Accounting. Hehehe ;)

Oh yeah, there was a BIG FIGHT

On Friday night, San'nicks was really crowded. It was a good night though...and I was having a great time.

Earlier that evening I was hanging out with some friends and they were telling me a story about a guy we all know...who is, pretty much, a waste of oxygen. Anyway he got in a little arguement with some other student during a class...and wanted to fight. The other guy brushed it off.

Later that night, while we were sitting at the bar, all hell broke loose. I guess the oxygen waster started a fight with the other guy...and it escalated into a big old fashioned bar brawl. One of my friends got punched in the head while trying to break it up...we had to pretty much drag her out of there.

The oxygen waster got messed up...like really jacked. His face is a WRECK and I feel no pitty nor shame.

But I was fired up, so my friends and I got in a huge wrestling match outside in the snow. The security guards looked on...unsure what to do. We were laughing while attempting to make each other eat snow. Security was confused, and we were having a blast.

And later that night an even bigger fight broke out in the club Absolut. From what I understand the police came...and a lot of people got in trouble.

I hear a lot of talk about how the US drinking age is stupid...21 is too old, people drink anyway, yada yada. Sorry folks...but encouraging drinking at the level they do at this school is a big problem...and downright foolish.

Snow Pictures

This is the town of Sierre...we did a little shopping (woot thermal underwear!)

This is what I look like after wrestling in the snow for about an hour. I am still sore.

Ah yes...the beer. I had bought this 10 pack a couple days ago, but left it at a friends place. He wasn't home...but his neighbor was. This shot was taken with me dangling out the balcony...so close, but yet so far! But with a pair of crutches, some dexterity, and a hell of a lot of luck I was able to get it. It was icey cold and delicious.

More snow fight madness.

This was taken from up in Montana the day we got our "real" snow.

This is the Funi station up in Montana. Pretty eh?

This is the view that I woke up to that morning. It was, and still is, AWESOME.

A picture taken from the Funi...

And another Funi picture...

Oh so little time left

This is it...classes are over, and finals begin next week. So I am so close to being finished I can freaking TASTE it.

Nothing terribly exciting or earth shattering to report. I had my last Contemporary World Issues exam (Environmental Studies) and I know I got one question wrong...stupid troposphere. Bah! Eh, you win some, you loose some...the rest I'm pretty confident I got right.

The BBA II students have finished now...and us Management students and the BBA I people have finals these next two weeks (well, really only one week but spread out with a weekend inbetween).

I've got a total of 6 finals...Room Divisions and Economics on the first day...then one a day until next Wednesday. That gives me a lot of time to study for everything (they don't start for 3 days)...which is a good thing. I learned my lesson from the first round of testing...WRITE LOTS AND LOTS! Last time it wasn't so much that I didn't know the info...I just didn't express it well enough. Oh well.

I've got a bunch of pictures of snowy type stuff too...which I'll be posting in a minute or so. Right now I'm going to eat and upload (it takes a while).

So yeah...that's that. Yep. Yay.

It snowed? No...it REALLY SNOWED!

Today is it ladies and gentlemen...my last day of "classes". I've got one review class today...Economics at 1, then DONE DONE DONE.

And not a moment too soon because...it really snowed last night.

We are talking nearly a foot. I'd estimate roughly 8 inches.

IT'S AWESOME! I will have a bunch of pics to post later on.

Oontz oontz.

It's SNOWING!

And has been all day!

Sadly it's not quite enough to put any decent amount on the ground...although it's really cold (below freezing) we've got enough sunlight to melt most of what stays on the ground. In other words...no snowballs yet.

Being a Californian...a Bay Area guy...snow is still a bit of a novelty. I've had a lot of experience with it, but just fleeting moments that didn't last. Here...well...this IS Switzerland...and I want it to snow snow and snow some more.

I felt like a little kid outside catching snowflakes on my jacket and looking at 'em...wandering around humming Christmas songs.

Being from a non-snow environment instantly creates a feeling of "Christmas" when I've got snow falling on me. It's a great feeling...a pleasant sensation...one that definitely makes me happy.

And although today is Thanksgiving...and I'm sure most of you are with family and friends, smelling wonderful kitchen smells (well, in a couple hours at least...it's still fairly early over there...) I feel at peace with the world, and happy to be alive.

So thanks to all of you for sticking with this...from the massive amount of writing, the silly stories, the funny pictures....and above all...sticking with me.

I can't wait to see you all...and it's going to happen very soon.

And I'll throw a snowball at someone...just 'cause I can.

Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Holidays!!

It's been a while...and is almost over. Oh yeah, it's COLD.

So it's really cold here...and actually started to snow. Well, sort of snow...it fell and melted right away. But tonight we should get some of the real stuff...WOO HOO!

And...this is MY LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL!! Last week of classes rather...and that means WOW this is all almost over. PHEW!

I know it's been a while since I've written here...and I hope you all understand. There isn't a ton to report honestly...I've got plenty of pictures of random parties, people and places...but nothing you haven't seen before really.

But this is the time to get ready for finals...and that is really important. So I'll have more to say later.

Until then...wish me luck.

I am popular in Scandanavia?

This is odd...

I've only told a couple people at school about my blog (for obvious reasons)...and for some strange reason I've been getting a lot of hits from Scandanavian countries...all directly coming to this.

Who are you people anyway?

Call me curious!

So, where are you? Here I am.

http://www.frappr.com/aroundtheworldinunknowndays

Feel free to add yourself to my cool little map thingie. These things are all over the internet now...and free to boot.

Enjoy!

Response to my Response to my Fellow Students

Oddly enough, the desk-signs have grown in popularity. Granted I don't put 'em up in all classes (due to the lack of a sense of humor from some teachers)...but my classmates occasionally ask me what the sign is for the day.

For example...

Environmental Studies: Only you can prevent forest fires
Food and Beverage Management: Would you like to super size that?
Economics: 30% of worlds GDP...'nuff said

etc etc etc.

For a while I had "como se dice "taco" en Espanol?"...at least until this one Mexican girl saw it. The class was nearly silent as one student was answering a teachers question. She saw the sign and burst out in uncontrollable laugher...which of course cause the rest of the class to start laughing...which made the teacher laugh.

Who doesn't love wasting 5 minutes of class time by having every single person in the classroom laughing?

Beauty.

My Note To My Fellow Students

I've gotten a touch tired of defending America and what we do...so when I sit in class (not all of them mind you, just the select few who's teachers would understand...) I put the following note on my desk so they can all see...

It's Not America's Fault...

...that your country sucks.

So far the response has been positive.

Officially on the home stretch...

Ah, glorious.

Marketing project...which, in essence, is 100% of my grade is completed and turned in.

My last Contemporary World Issues project has just been printed out, and will be turned in tomorrow.

In other words...no more projects. No more group work. No more papers to write. Nothing else to hand in.

All that is left, come the Monday after Thanksgiving...is Finals.

That's it.

These remaining...something around...12 days of classes. Then roughly 2 weeks (a bit less) of Finals. Then 9 days off. Then Graduation. Then I fly home.

Ah...such a nice feeling.
